This Tuesday Night Open Mic @ the Wilser’s Room has been formatted so that all of the aspiring musicians and singers can mingle in the melting pot of talent that we call Fredericton.

      Starts: 5:00 pm
      Ends: May 22, 2013 - 6:30 pm
      Location: BEAVERBROOK ART GALLERY
Description: Work of Fine Arts Professor Robin Peck Part of Exhibit at the Beaverbrook Art Gallery - "Dreams Of Order At The Edge Of Chaos: Contemporary Geometric Abstraction" Opening at 5:00 PM
      DATE: FEB 21, 2013
      TIME: 5:00 PM-6:30 PM
LOCATION: BEAVERBROOK ART GALLERY, FREDERICTON, NB, CANADA
      Exhibit Runs February 21, 2013 - May 26, 2013
      Curator: Terry Graff
Organized by the Beaverbrook Art Gallery with the support of the Canada Council for the Arts, the Province of New Brunswick, and the City of Fredericton.

Drawn from the permanent collection of the Beaverbrook Art Gallery, this exhibition features a selection of abstract art by contemporary artists who use elemental geometric forms in paintings, relief constructions, and sculpture to express order and formal structure over literal narrative subject, illusionistic pictorial space, and the grand visceral gestures of abstract expressionism.

These works represent a wide range of rigorous approaches to employing a geometric vocabulary as subject and structure of a work of art. Characterized as reductive, spatial, constructed, and architectonic, they demonstrate the contemporary relevance of the modernist canon that arose in the twentieth century from the destruction and reformulation by Cubists and Constructivists of established conventions of form and space.

Featured artists include Eli Bornstein, Douglas Haynes, Jocelyn Jean, Ron Kostyniuk, Gino Lorcini, Robin Peck, Henry Sax, Ron Shuebrook, and others.

Scores will be announced at the end of each round.

      9) Keep your team discussions to a low roar unless you want the neighboring team to eavesdrop. Or discuss loudly the wrong answers and hope they WILL be eavesdropping.

      Starts: 5:00 pm
      Ends: May 26, 2013 - 6:30 pm

      2) The Trivia Competition will consist of 4 rounds of 12 questions. Questions will be read twice.

      3) Maximum team size is 6 persons. If you are smart enough to go with less…so be it!

      4) Pre-competition things to do:
      (b) Select a captain for your team. This person will be responsible for turning in your answer sheets.
      (c) Write your team name and number on each of the Answer Sheets on your table.
      (d) On the 1st Round Answer Sheet, estimate how many correct answers you think your team will score. In case of a tie for first place, the team with the closest estimated score without going over will be the winner.

      5) Correct spelling on the answer sheets is not required, however, answers must be legible and the judge must be able to easily recognize your answers.

      6) You will have three minutes between rounds to turn in your sheets.

      7) There is no polling the audience and no phone a friend. Resource materials and electronic devices (computers, cell phones, PDAs, etc.) are strictly prohibited at the tables. Should it be necessary for you to use your cell phone for a call, you are asked to leave the room and will not be permitted re-entry until the end of that round.

Scores will be announced at the end of each round.

      9) Keep your team discussions to a low roar unless you want the neighboring team to eavesdrop. Or discuss loudly the wrong answers and hope they WILL be eavesdropping.
