The CIS Nationals Hockey Tournament is complete!

The CIS National Men’s Hockey Tournament is back in Fredericton! And CHSR brought you all the games! Tune in a half-hour before the games for pre-game coverage.

Our crew this year included the dynamic duo of Dave (Ritchie) and Dave (Kilfoil), as well as interviewers and commentators Justin Marshall, Nick Murray, Michael Bourgeouis and Matthew Mulkern!

Scheduled games were:

  • Thursday, March 22, 2pm: Moncton (3) vs McGill (6)
  • Thursday, March 22, 7pm: UQTR (1) vs UNB (6)
  • Friday, March 23, 2pm: Moncton (5) vs Saskatchewan (1)
  • Friday, March 23, 7pm: UQTR (2) vs Western (3)
  • Saturday, March 24, 11:30am: McGill (3) vs Saskatchewan (4)
  • Saturday, March 24, 4:30pm: UNB (2) vs Western (3)
  • Sunday, March 25, 8:00pm: The Championship Game! McGill (4) vs Western (3) in OTx1

Congratulations to McGill for their overtime victory 4-3 over Western!

No Hockey Tonight! :(

Unfortunately, the March Break and a last-minute problem mean that we won’t be bringing you hockey coverage tonight.

We are fully committed to full coverage of the CIS Nationals games starting on March 22, including bringing back Dave Ritchie as play-by-play host.

Good luck to the UNB V-Reds in their 3rd game of the AUS Championships! The series stands at 2-0 for the V-Reds, so they could sweep it in three!

CHSR covering UNB V-Reds hockey this weekend!

After the great debut of our two newest sportscasters last Saturday, CHSR-FM will return to the Aitken Centre again this weekend to bring hockey fans around the world live coverage! UNB will be playing against Acadia on Friday night and Dalhousie on Saturday.

On Friday and Saturday, tune in to 97.9 FM in the Greater Fredericton Area or from anywhere in the world online at our live streaming.

Hockey tonight: UNB in Halifax, 7pm

Sports are back!

CHSR is proud to continue the tradition of coverage of the UNB V-Reds Men’s Hockey again this year! We’ve had to scale back a bit due to the loss to a move of our long-term, legendary play-by-play announcer, Dave Ritchie, but we’re bringing up a new wave of sports callers! Right now, we plan to cover all the local V-Reds games.

To see the full schedule, look on our Sports page — you can always get there from the menu at the top of the page.

We’ll looking to expand our sports coverage this year, with more sports being covered in more ways — including more sports coverage at both UNB and STU. In order to do that, however, we could use more volunteers interested in local sports. If interested, contact sports[at]chsrfm.ca, or drop by the station to fill out a membership application!
