Fredericton city council voted on their next course of action in building a new regional aquatic centre last night.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Chief Administrative Officer Steven Hart made a presentation to Fredericton\u2019s counselors on paths forward in the municipal governments pursuit of building a new regional aquatic center to replace the close Sir Max Aitken Pool.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This past June, the Capital Regional Service Commission ruled that the proposal the city brought forth did not fit the definition as regional. Pushing against the Fredericton regional aquatics facility feasibility study council had accepted back in 2021, that deemed the project necessary as long as an appropriate representational governance model as well as proportional capital and operating cost sharing were implemented.<\/span><\/p>\n

Johnny James spoke with counsellors on their next steps with the project.<\/p>\n
