New Brunswick political history was made official with the swearing in of Susan Holt as the first woman to hold the position of premier this weekend.<\/span><\/p>\n

Holt was visibly emotional during the ceremony, especially so when swearing in the five women who will work in her 19-person cabinet.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The new premier invited dozens of women in leadership. past and present, from across all parties to be\u00a0 in attendance, saying “I would not be here if it weren’t for them,” when addressing reporters.<\/span><\/p>\n

The 61st New Brunswick legislative session set to begin November 19th, with changes to Policy 713, repealing regulation 84-20 and instilling a provincial rent cap by February 1st being top of mind for the newly formed government.<\/span><\/p>\n
