In just under a week in office, Premier Susan Holt has repealed the stipulation in New Brunswick\u2019s medical services payment act that prevents coverage for surgical abortions performed outside hospitals.<\/p>\n
Holt said it was a move that required no delays, is a negligible cost to the province and will ease minds of those who need the access, and thanking those in attendance for the announcement who laid the groundwork.<\/p>\n
Health minister John Dornan added that there are those currently in situations that couldn\u2019t wait longer for this change.<\/p>\n
Holt stressed that the work is not done and that the province can expect supports to this new access within the first quarter of 2025.<\/p>\n
