In late January of 2025 bars in Atlantic Canada were hit by a Guinness shortage. For over two weeks pubs and bars were unable to order new kegs of Guinness. According to the owner of O\u2019Hickey\u2019s Irish Pub, Jason Cooling, Fredericton stout drinkers switched their habits from Guinness, to its main competitor Murphy\u2019s. Cooling also noted the importance of Guinness returning to bars in time for St. Patrick\u2019s day, when many pubs do a majority of their business. As of February 13 Guinness returned to O\u2019Hickey\u2019s, but had not returned to the other bars and pubs in Fredericton.<\/p>\n
