The New Brunswick College of Craft and Design (NBCCD) and St. Thomas University (STU) have announced a new program that offers students a joint bachelor of arts in Interdisciplinary Humanities taken between the two schools.<\/p>\n

Previously, students who wanted to attend both institutions would spend three years at NBCCD \u2014 one year to complete the Foundation Visual Arts certificate and two years to complete their discipline\u2019s diploma \u2014 before spending another four years earning a bachelor\u2019s degree at STU.<\/p>\n

This new program cuts two years off of that process, saving nearly 30% on tuition and time.<\/p>\n

STU\u2019s Director of Student Recruitment, Cristi Flood-Caristi, explained that this particular partnership has been in the works for years, with talks between STU and NBCCD beginning before the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n

Ultimately, this partnership intends to combine the hands-on technical training offered by NBCCD with the reflective academic learning done at STU. Kaylee Moore, NBCCD\u2019s Chief Marketing and Recruitment Officer, noted that the program promises to be popular, as she received inquiries from prospective students within hours of the new degree being announced.<\/p>\n
