\"\"<\/a>How much do you think you know about New Brunswick history? Personally, I think we do a pretty bad job of teaching it, and most people don’t embrace it. I’m on a mission to learn more, so I’ve invited a collection of historians to help me learn more about the legacies, the achievements, the battles, the inventions, the troublesome eras and the long past of one of Canada’s oldest regions.<\/em><\/p>\n

My guests today are Mary Louise McCarthy<\/strong> and Jennifer Dow<\/strong>, to talk about Black History in the province. Both have a very personal connection to the legacy of black people in New Brunswick, from the early days of slavery to the support of the Loyalists to the affinity for indigenous peoples. We begin this discussion today with a bit from the earliest days.<\/p>\n
