There are many elements of Shakespeare are iconic, from individual words, popular phrases he invented, to archetypal stories that form the basis for much of modern storytelling.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n

My guests today are all involved in one of this year’s Bard in the Barracks<\/a><\/strong> Shakespearean productions: Len Falkenstein<\/strong> (Grand Poobah of Theatre In Fredericton)<\/strong>, Mary Walker<\/strong> (“Juliet”) and Alex Fullerton<\/strong> (“Romeo”). They joined me to talk about staging such an iconic play, and the fun of bringing these characters just over the edge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bard in the Barracks<\/a><\/strong> runs from June 21 to July 7, with Romeo and Juliet<\/em> being staged in the Botanic Garden, and Twelfth Night<\/em> being staged in the Barracks downtown.<\/p>\n
