The recipients of the 2024 New Brunswick Human Rights Awards were honoured during a ceremony at Government House on Friday.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

17-year-old Fredericton High School student Merrit Johnson received the Youth Human Rights Award for her work as a queer community advocate, mainly through her work as executive committee president for FHS\u2019s GSA.<\/span><\/p>\n

Johnny James spoke with Johnson to get her reaction, ask about her work and to get her thoughts on a number of key issues facing the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
