November is Lung Health & Cancer Awareness Month and NB Lung is taking steps on the issue of Radon, a naturally occurring radioactive gas that is both odourless and tasteless, that affects New Brunswick as it has the highest levels of any province in Canada due to it\u2019s geological makeup.<\/span><\/p>\n

Radon exposure is the second leading cause of lung cancer for Canadians, with 3200 deaths per year.<\/span><\/p>\n

NB Lung President and CEO Melanie Langille says organizations like hers have been increasing awareness over the last 10 to 15 years, and as a part of their initiatives for this month will be drawing for two 1000$ grants from those who purchase testing kits through NB Lung by the end of November, whose results test for high levels.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
