Several groups are calling for action on energy affordability in New Brunswick.<\/p>\n

On Friday, the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN), and the New Brunswick Coalition of Persons with Disabilities (NBCPD), held a press conference at Imprint Youth in Fredericton.<\/p>\n

At the press conference, speakers called for an income-based energy rebate for low-to-moderate-income ratepayers and a winter disconnection ban.<\/p>\n

Speakers included Nichola Taylor, New Brunswick-wide ACORN chair; Shelly Petit, NBCPD chair; New Brunswick Green Party leader David Coon; and New Brunswick Federation of Labour president Chris Watson.<\/p>\n
