\"LunchBox-ACORN\"<\/a>ACORN is having a fundraising organic supper at The Cedar Tree Cafe in downtown Fredericton<\/span> on Tuesday, September 24. Buy your ticket before Friday if you can, because that gives them an idea what numbers they need.<\/p>\n

Times have changed, sure — but one thing is likely to always be true: people gotta eat.<\/p>\n

And the quality of food a person puts in his or her body directly affects how they live.<\/p>\n

New Brunswick and all of the Maritimes have a great legacy of growing food, and we’ve all learned more about better ways of doing so. That legacy, however, is growing older, and it’s the mission of organizations like ACORN<\/a> to help preserve the knowledge we have gained, and pass it along to a new generation of organic farmers.<\/p>\n

I had a pleasant conversation with Lucia Stephen, the\u00a0Program Coordinator of ACORN<\/a>‘s Grow A Farmer<\/a> initiative, where we talked about the history and future of organic farming, and what their organization does to bridge between the two.<\/p>\n
