A pair of epic tales for you today! First, Jake Hollis (the host of the new show Zos Kia, found Thursday nights at 10:30pm) got in touch with metal band Protest The Hero. They talked about the changes in the direction of their music and the process behind coming up with their brand new album.
Then, in the second half, the studio is invaded by the travelling Odysseus, as I am joined by the director and two of the cast from the upcoming student production of The Odyssey. Len Falkenstein is the director of this adaptation of the classic tale (and the prof for the drama classes who are staging it). Kayla Ossachuk is a film studies major in the middle of her studies, and plays the goddess Athena in the production. And former UNB Student Union President Andrew Martell plays the lead role of Odysseus himself. We talk about the great diversion that is drama, the staging of such a massive production, and how unique this performance will be — both for the performers as well as the audience.
The Odyssey will be having a dress-rehearsal early presentation on November 5, and entering into its normal run on the 5th through 9th of November. The performance is being staged in Memorial Hall on UNB Fredericton campus.
Tickets are available at the door: $14 regular, $10 Senior/Underwaged, $8 Student; $2 discount on all tickets for Nov. 5 Preview performance.
