You might think that the NB Lung Association is just about lungs, right? Well, their mandate extends to everything that goes into your lungs, too! This includes cancer-causing gases like radon.
You may have heard the word “radon” before and, like me, thought it sounded like some sort of alien zap gun. It’s an odorless, colourless gas that seeps out of the ground and into your basements, and in high concentrations can lead to cancer. But don’t panic! It can be detected and dealt with.
Rashini Kassie (from the NB Lung Association) knows just what to do. She joined me on the Lunchbox and tells us all about what radon is, where it comes from, how you can detect it and how to get rid of it. Don’t forget to check out the national campaign page to find out even more!
