Ea Sports UFC 2 Review

Ea Sports UFC 2 Review.

UFC is back for another installment with some new additions and new game play modes. But is this enough to make a great comeback? Let’s find out

UFC back in 2014 needed some improvement with its ground game and stand up and physics. This game fixes most of those like the knock out physics are the most realistic I have seen in a game to this day. The ground game definitely needs to be re done in this installment of UFC in order to do a transition you use your right stick and wait for a circle to fill up this applies to pulling off a submission as well; It does take some time to adjust to this new style of ground game. The stand up though is very similar to the first UFC game but better with the hit reactions and knockout physics. There is nothing better than delivering a kick to the face and watching your opponent go rag doll.

Career Mode: While the career mode has some new changes and is more realistic it isn’t as lengthy. You start off by going through The Ultimate Fighter. After winning The Ultimate Fighter you begin climbing up the ranks to chase your division’s belt. During this time you train in between fights you can train easy, medium or hard and each of these you have a risk of getting injured or wear and tear on your body and you have to carry that in to the next fight. In this version of career mode it is just like the first one the more damage you take the shorter you career is by the end of my career I had only had 27 fights.

Ultimate Team: This was the mode that felt the most welcoming. You start off by creating five fighters in five weight classes. With each fighter you try to win the belt and as you keep on winning you earn coins to buy moves for your fighters and perks and fitness boosts. You start off in division one and keep on going up in numbers the more you win the more points you get to move on to the next division. Best part about this mode there is no limit on how many fights one Fighter has.

Conclusion: While UFC 2 is great it is not perfect the stand up is great but the ground game needs some work.  The career mode is short but sweet at that, The Ultimate Team mode is really fun to play and learn and feels very rewarding because as you rise through the divisions in this mode they become more challenging which is great. UFC 2 packs a heavy punch and does just enough to finish the fight.

Score: 8/10
