Joining a national cross-country counter-protest, Fredericton’s 2SLGBTQIA+ community and allies gathered to fight against policies and rhetoric they deem hateful and dangerous to the province’s youth.
Over 80 Frederictonians gathered in front of the NB Legislature on Friday in support of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and to counter a movement called 1 Million March For Kids, a movement seeking to eliminate sexual orientation and gender identity curriculum and policies from Canadian schools.
The gathering was organized in unison with three other counter-demonstrations across the province and 35 total across the country. Where those impacted spoke out and shared their stories.
