CHSR News – October 17th, 2024 – Garrison Night Market Diverts Two Tons Of Cardboard From Landfill

Posted on 2024-10-17 by Johnny James Posted in CHSR News, General, News

Fredericton’s Garrison Night Market has become a staple during summers in the city, packing the streets on Thursday nights for locals to browse and support local vendors and artisans.

In a recent report from the market and city, that foot traffic left a small environmental footprint during its 2024 season, diverting a total of two tons of cardboard from the city’s landfill. A result of the recycling program the market has been implementing over its last two seasons and encouraging market-goers to shop with more re-useable materials.

Have a listen to hear more from city officials about the market’s environmental success.
