We hear about the follies of a rushed and projective research system, the reductive nature of the research results in use, and the strengths of more qualitative approaches. This includes increased respect and regard for all the participants, less bias and pre-judgement from the researcher themselves, and slow qualitative research can be done much more cheaply than many traditional types of research relying on hundreds of participants.
