Interview: Asha Bear (Filmmaker)

Posted on 2024-11-08 by Isabella Diotte Posted in The Lunchbox

Film can be a vehicle to communicate with the world, it is a medium with countless possibilities to tell our stories.

Our guest today was Asha Bear, an Indigenous filmmaker and owner of Bear Beadwork here in New-Brunswick. Asha joined me today to discuss her short Film A Walk In My Moccasins and to discuss the film’s upcoming appearance in New-Brunswick’s very own  Silver Wave Film Festival.

A Walk In My Moccasins will be screening at The Silver Wave Film Festival‘s NB Shorts I on Friday, November 8th, at 7:00 PM, on the UNB Campus, Tilley Hall, Room 102.

New Brunswick’s Silver Wave Film Festival is an annual festival featuring a diverse range of films. There are films for everyone, from feature to short and from fiction to documentary. This year, Silver Wave will be held from November 7th to the 14th, and screenings will be held in various locations. The screening information can be found on their Facebook page.
