Music is constantly in motion, electrified by passion as much as instruments.
My guest today is Greg Harrison, a percussionist and co-founder of the FUZE festival-within-a-festival. FUZE is a celebration of modern instrumental music, from electronic to alternate compositions. The festival takes place as part of the New Brunswick Summer Music Festival, which is generally more in a classical vein. Greg joins me to talk about how the festival came about, his thoughts on the growth of modern forms of classical-inspired and classical-inspiring music, and what’s on the lineup for this year’s festival.
The FUZE Festival takes place the weekend of August 12 and 13, with performances by Nuages, PonyGirl, Indigo Poirier, Jaguar Knight and angel of the marriage of contraries. The first performance is on August 12 at 19pm at The Capital Complex; the second performance is on August 13 at 8pm at Memorial Hall on UNB Campus.
