How do you condense hundreds of ideas into a single piece of theatre?
That’s the question Isabelle and Bianca of Thèâtre La Cicogne are asking themselves now. I first spoke to the pair back in November of last year about the beginning of their adventure, The Identity Journey Project. They canvassed hundreds of youth between the ages of 15 and 30 all over the province to ask them about how they identify as New Brunswickers. Now, they’re transforming the results into a play.
We talk about the task ahead, the challenge of creating a 4-language play, and the mentoring from a similar project in Quebec.
