There’s something uniquely Canadian about a sport that requires ice to play, and that we often build indoor ice to make sure it happens.
Add a rock and broom, and you’ve got curling!
My guest today is Lisa Steven, a long-time curler in Harvey and volunteer organizer with the upcoming Harvey Curling Club’s Annual Sheeler Bonspiel. She joins me to talk details about curling, about how she’s played since she was 12, and how much support this annual event gives to families dealing with cancer.
Music today:
- We began a clean sweep of curling with Your House, from the album Proof of Life by Coyote.
- One thing to avoid is an unresponsive gripper, or as Smokes puts it (from their album Zone Eater): a Dead Hand.
- And I want everyone to enjoy their weekend: from Fortunate Ones, the title track of The Bliss.
