There are many elements of Shakespeare are iconic, from individual words, popular phrases he invented, to archetypal stories that form the basis for much of modern storytelling.
My guests today are all involved in one of this year’s Bard in the Barracks Shakespearean productions: Len Falkenstein (Grand Poobah of Theatre In Fredericton), Mary Walker (“Juliet”) and Alex Fullerton (“Romeo”). They joined me to talk about staging such an iconic play, and the fun of bringing these characters just over the edge.
Bard in the Barracks runs from June 21 to July 7, with Romeo and Juliet being staged in the Botanic Garden, and Twelfth Night being staged in the Barracks downtown.
