This city has a very thriving music community, both in terms of the musicians and the audience.
This city also has a very thriving winter, so it’s only natural that some great celebrations come to take our minds off of it.
Shivering Songs has, for five years now, brought a bit of light into the long winter. Surrounded for the last couple of years by increasing numbers of celebrations (under the umbrella of Frostival), the Shivering Songs festival still manages to shine.
Brendan McGee joined me by phone today. He’s one of the co-organizers and floating support people (as well as performer and artist contact), and he joined me via phone to describe the size, scope and incredible line-up for this year’s show.
Music today:
- By My Side, title track from the album by Jon and Roy;
- and from one of the Shivering Songs performers, Je T’aime Mon Amour from Buck 65, off his latest album Neverlove.
