What is addiction? We hear examples of it everyday. A person kills an innocent pedestrian driving drunk; Rob Ford smokes crack in his office; our addictions to sugar, video games, drugs, gambling, the list goes on.
We as Canadians know it takes a lot of money out of taxpayers pockets to fund rehabilitation and recovery programs, but what about long term recovery for the individual?
This episode is the “addiction as affliction” forum In The Know. Leslie Waterspoon, a recovering addict and substance abuse counselor is interviewed, hopefully giving us Canadians a better understanding of what addiction is, and what it is not.
