We’re counting down the days, and we’re excited! To whet your appetite, here’s a sneak peak at the schedule.
A couple of things to note:
- Yup, we’re early-risers! The conference is set to start with breakfast at 8am, and then kick into full gear at 9am. On the first and last days, we will have Opolahsomuwehs, a local indigenous elder, perform an opening and closing ceremony for us, so we hope everyone can shake off the sand in their eyes.
- Noon-time never looked so large! Yes, lunch starts at 11:30am, but lasts until 1:30pm, but that’s because it also includes two musical performances and two caucus sessions. Food will be available the entire time, allowing you to mix-and-match your experience.
- There are events planned for your early evenings on Thursday and Saturday, so we suggest planning for Friday night to be your best chance to take an extended supper.
- Speaking of early evenings, the conference sessions end on Saturday at 5pm, and the awards gala and food starts at 6pm. We’re considering the gala to be “conference casual”, so you’ll have enough time to drop off your notepads, refresh yourself, and then we’ll make our way down to the Charlotte Street Arts Centre for the evening. We encourage you to bring good walking shoes, but we’ll have vehicles ready to deliver folks as well.
The guide should be finished this week, and a digital (PDF) version as well as a printed version will be available. If there are specific questions you need answered, feel free to comment here or send an email to ncrc@chsrfm.ca and we’ll get on it!
