When you are focused on the small details, a universe of possibility arises.
My guests today are Nadia Francavilla (UNB musician-in-residence) and Carl Gionet (pianist). They are two of the members of an ensemble performing a concert called Road Movies this weekend. The concert combines several minimalist and experimental musical and spoken word pieces with short film to create a unique multimedia performance. We talked about the steady rhythm of minimalist music, the chance to perform outside the norm, and where these pieces come from.
Road Movies is part of the Music on the Hill series, and can be seen at Memorial Hall on UNB Campus this Saturday, November 19 at 7:30pm.
