Whimsical tales can be deeply enduring, and can last for generations.
My guests today were Stephanie and Cassie, two of the organizers of the upcoming Fredericton celebration of International Sailor Moon Day. They are both long-term fans of the Japanese series, from very different perspectives: Stephanie has always enjoyed the North American translation, while Cassie has preferred the original Japanese version (subtitled in English). They introduce me to the story of Sailor Moon, discuss some of the other versions (from the more recent Sailor Moon Crystal, to the movies, to the musicals!) and talk about the ways that everyone can come out to celebrate on August 6.
The International Sailor Moon Day celebration in Fredericton will be held at Winner’s Lounge, from 1pm to 5pm on August 6. Find the event on Facebook .
