The Lunchbox: Interview with Len Falkenstein about Notable Acts

Posted on 2013-07-24 by encaf1 Posted in The Lunchbox

LunchBoxNotableActsFredericton is filled with festivals all summer long, but sometimes it is possible to forget that it’s not all music. Len Falkenstein has been working for a dozen years with the Notable Acts Theatre Company to bring a festival of theatre every year! This year’s festival begins on July 24 and runs until August 4, and brings theatre out of the theatre and into the community! Cedric and I talked to him about the origins and growth of Notable Acts, the thrills and challenges of staging theatre in unusual places, and the recent successful presentation of Shakespeare’s The Tempest in Odell Park. Len also brought with him two of his actors (Jesse LaPointe, Ian Goff) to perform part of a scene from one of the site-specific Street Scenes plays taking place at the York St Train Station called “The Station”.
