The recipients of the 2024 New Brunswick Human Rights Awards were honoured during a ceremony at Government House on Friday. 17-year-old Fredericton High School student Merrit Johnson received the Youth Human Rights Award for her work as a queer community advocate, mainly through her work as executive committee president for FHS’s GSA.
