A couple months ago, Sammie X and the Fredericton Metal page on Facebook put together a survey about the local / regional Metal & Punk scene and many of you participated in this survey, which gleaned very important information to not only the musicians, but bar owners and gig promoters.
Sammie X has been an integral part of the local Metal & Punk Rock scene for a great many years and it was an honour to have her come in to the Crazy Train and sit down and talk about the survey’s findings and just to shoot the shit about our local Metal & Punk scene.

On Episode #116, I finished off the second part of the Maritime Metal & Hard Rock festival showcase of bands and also dropped the question for the last ‘weekend pass’ that you can still win!

Iron Maiden was with me live in the studio at the beginning of Hour I, boy did they ever look different from seeing them live and all the photo’s I’ve ever seen! But honestly, it was Fredericton’s ‘Run For Your Lives’ the cities Iron Maiden tribute band headed up by Aaron Hazlett! We chatted about why and how this tribute got started, what it’s like to do a tribute band.

Hero’s Last Rite‘s Wasted Prayer. The title track from their latest release sets the tone for the entire album and that tone is a sonic assault!

I’ve been fortunate to listen to a lot of great albums this week, one that really stood out was Portugal. The Man‘s new album Woodstock. Other recent albums I can’t stop listening to are Take A Rest from TORA and The Damn Truth‘s Devilish Folk. Lee-La’s vocals are a force strong enough to frighten you and fall in love with at the same time.
