The Crazy Train Episode #CXXI
Been a while my friends! Episode #121 was a pre-recorded episode, but it wont be the last! I WILL however be doing my first live show in a month THIS upcoming Saturday, Sept. 2nd.
Episode #121 kicked off with two brand new tracks from Montreal’s ‘Requiomend’ from their album ‘Tide breaker’. Hoping to see the guys down this way sometime sooner than later. Also in Hour I, we dipped our toes into a couple of more ‘Alt-Rock’ artists, with ‘Dazor’ from Halifax and ‘Melonvine’ from Moncton. Both bands are carrying a ‘Grunge’ like banner which is great to hear in this day and age. The Crazy Train’s not ALWAYS about ‘Metal’ but some of the more Alt/Rock music that makes up our great music nation.
We returned to Metal with Rifium, Red Usurper, the Meat Sweats and more. See the list below.
After the weekend of September 9th, I should be back to regular shows… And then of course UNB Reds hockey will be starting up soon… Seems time is never on my side anymore!
Hour I: Wasted, Tide Breaker – Requioment (Quebec)| Back To The Lounge – Dazor (Halifax)| Round & Round — Melonvine (Moncton)| Kataklysmik Toilet Assault – The Meat Sweats (Halifax)| Halloween Massacre – Rifium (SJ)| Blackened On The Second Day – Red Usurper (SJ)| Spread Your Wings – The Wasteland Zombies (Fredericton)| Residue – Luna Amour (Halifax)|
Hour II: A Passing Moment – Grief & Bliss (LA)| Stygian Valley – Uncured (New Jersey)| Dark Black – Vattnet (New Hampshire)| Here & Now – The Ernies| Eye For An Eye – Soulfly| Prayer of Hatred – Morbid Angel| Thunder Kiss ’65 – White Zombie| Symphony Of Destruction – Megadeth| Meteor – Voivod| Supernaut – 1000 Home DJ’s| Monolithic Ignorance – Revocation
NEXT WEEK! Episode #122! Finally I’m back and LIVE! Loads of interview clips from the Maritime Metal & Hard Rock fest #5! Of course two hours of Molten METAL power!!
If you got a band that should be heard on the Crazy Train, you got a gig coming up? A tour? A brand new album you want to debut? Know of a band or an upcoming show I haven’t mentioned? Email me at crazytrainchsrATgmail.com

The Escapists 2 Review

Team 17 & Mouldy Toof Studios bring us The Escapists 2, a top down strategy game. You must escape many scenarios; like a prison for example. There are many ways to escape a prison, but that is not all you do. Following a schedule and protocol is necessary to keep out of trouble. There are many ways to escape from the levels, by acquiring a variety of items; like weapons, keys, and uniforms. Collect these items by taking them from prisoner’s desks or earn coins by doing tasks for prisoners and buying the items from other prisoners. The prisons are not just in buildings this time. There are prisons on trains, submarines, airplanes and much more. As you progress through the levels, they become more difficult. You must collect keys in order to unlock more levels, which can become frustrating. As you try to escape while time is running out, you must cover your jailbreak attempt with an item such as a desk, masking your attempt during inspection.
The Escapists 2 feels like a great sequel and is truly a unique experience.

Anyway, enjoy this week’s episode, and if you haven’t had enough of me yet, I’m live Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 9 PM and 12 AM Atlantic Time (GMT-4) playing music and games. Join me on my new Twitch channel here!

The Lunchbox Interview: Julian Christie, Marie Meade, Larry Holder (Enbicon 2017)
Games teach us so many things about who we are, how to get along with others, how to solve problems and think outside the box — as well as being perhaps the most engaging entertainment you can imagine, and a chance to be someone else for a while.
My guests today are Julian Christie, Marie Meade and Larry Holder, some of the organizers behind the upcoming 2017 edition of the Enbicon game convention and Capital Cosplay costuming event. This year’s event will be held near the end of October, and promises to be bigger and better than ever! My guests talk about the new space, the games, and the additions to a great tradition.
Enbicon 2017 will be held at the Delta Fredericton on Woodstock Road on October 28th & 29th. For only $15, you can enjoy a very full weekend of every kind of gaming imaginable, and show off or learn about cosplay. See you there!

Uncharted Lost Legacy Review

Naughty Dog brings us a lengthy DLC, from the Uncharted series featuring a story following the events of Uncharted 4 with Chloe and Nadine. You take control of Chloe in this case; as she is on the hunt for the Tusk of Ganesh, and tries to beat a war lord by the name of Asav. Who is in the middle of a war himself. The lost legacy takes place in India, which is great because it is a new location. But 90% of it takes place in a jungle like all of the other Uncharted games (a change of scenery would be nice in this series).
In the beginning of the game, we see the characters struggle to trust each other and work together. As the story continues we find out a little bit more about the history of the characters. Especially Chloe, and who her father was. Come to find out she is finishing what her father began. Nadine’s story is a bit different and is satisfying to find out what has happened to her and shoreline, and how she acquired the organization. The characters seem to get closer as the story progresses with some minor bumps along the way.
Lost Legacy is a great expansion of the series and I hope to see a full triple A title featuring these two characters in the future.
Uncharted Lost Legacy: 9/10
The Lunchbox Interview: Natalie Pickard & Debbie Thomas (NBACL)
Sometimes you just need an ally to help you reach your dreams, to make your art.
My guests today are Natalie Pickard and Debbie Thomas. Debbie works with the New Brunswick Accociation for Community Living (NBACL), an entity that works with people who need help making their way in society. Natalie is an artist working with the NBACL on a program that helps people get started on creating a sustainable business. Natalie’s artwork can be found on postcards, currently for sale at Covey’s on Prospect St. We talk about how the program helps people like Natalie, and how Natalie has gone on to create this artwork.

Bondo chats with Raveen – Interview
2017-08-15 Every once in awhile there’s a sound that you can’t quite describe. Dark, but not ominous. Beautiful, but not delicate. Montreal’s Raveen fits into this category.
Their latest release, Always, had Ride The Tempo call them “the Pink Floyd of the new millennium” which are some pretty big words… but I get it. There’s something big, ethereal and calming about this music all at the same time.
Check out my chat with Raveen vocalist Eric while we talk about the music, Montreal, and their upcoming East Coast tour.
Raveen are playing The Capital with Property// and Year of Glad August 26, 2017.
