CC001: How do we improve Fredericton?
Conference Call is a weekly call-in program hosted live at 8pm every Monday. You can participate live via phone, Twitter or Facebook, or join in after the show has aired by leaving a comment here, calling our voicemail line at (506) 453-4989 or emailing feedback@chsrfm.ca . Responses after the show may be included in future shows.
On the call this week: how do we improve Fredericton? In my experience, Fredericton has a lot to offer, but it’s not perfect; what can we do as citizens, what can city council do, and what can anyone do to improve the city? From infrastructure to culture, from esthetics to function, we want to hear what you’d like done.
NEXT WEEK: Pot holes! It’s the season to consider how your vehicle might fall prey to missing infrastructure. It’s a perpetual problem, and we want to hear your stories! What have you lost? Where should people avoid? What other infrastructure has suffered over the winter?

Bondo Quick Pick: Mike Biggar – Go All In
Bondo’s Quick Pick:
Mike Biggar is back with a soulful cross-genre record that goes all in (pun intended). Biggar’s gift as a storyteller comes through in his songs, only to be outdone by his live performance. This multi-award winning singer/songwriter enlists the help of heavy-hitter ECMA winning co-writers Chris Kirby, Brent Mason, and Charlie A’Court, who also lends his sick guitar skills on Love and Insanity.
Go All In is released March 10, 2017 on Busted Flat Records.
Favourite Tracks: Blood From A Stone, Go All In, Leaving These Days, Hell and High Water
Listen to or order the record here.
RFYL Episode: SicknessThemeSongEP10
RFYL is back with another week of … sickness. I managed to get that horrible cold going around, but still also managed to bring you a cough-free episode where my voice starts to fail near the end of it. But that’s fine! The music’s all good quality and more than makes up for my abilities as a host.
Napalmpom’s album released! Go get it on bandcamp. Also, we revisit my “sickness” playlist, which is full of medicine, sickness, and then kind of gets hazy near the end.
What was I talking about?
Send requests for next week’s show to RunForYourLifeCHSR[at]gmail.com !
The Joy Formidable – Last Thing On My Mind
Bella Clava – I’m Sick
Die Mannequin – Bad Medicine
Verse The Sun – Contagion
Fit For Rivals – Agent Orange
Napalmpom – Last Legs / Ghost Bike
Rockyard – Ghosts
the black frame spectacle – Patient Zero
Beneath the Grid Music – Hands Off Gretel – Awfully Miserable

The Lunchbox Interview: Lisa-Ann Ross (Shorts and Sweets)
Most people think of theatre with a very narrow definition, but the possibilities are truly endless.
My guest today is Lisa-Ann Ross from Solo Chicken Productions, one of the companies participating in the bilingual, multi-city, multi-production experimental new theatre night called Shorts and Sweets / Culottes Courtes et Sucreries. We discuss how this collection of short theatre pieces came to be assembled, the thrill of untested theatre, and the fascinating experience of seeing theatre in a language you may not fully comprehend.
Shorts and Sweets will be on the stage on March 6th at 7:30pm at the Charlotte Street Arts Centre.

Introducing: “Conference Call”
Hello Fredericton!
That’s what we want to say, and open our phone lines so you can tell us what’s on your mind. We’re starting a new weekly call-in show experiment: Conference Call, every Monday night at 8pm. We’re looking to hear from you!
Each week, we’ll choose a topic that seems to be on people’s minds, invite guests on to talk, and listen to you.
For the first show, coming up March 6 March 13, the topic is:
How can we improve our city?
We’re starting out broad, but we know you’ve thought of ways to really make things better. We’re hoping you’ll share your ideas about how to turn a great city into an awesome one.
Send us your thoughts and your ideas for other shows!
Email: feedback@chsrfm.ca
Phone: (506) 453-4989 (voicemail)

We all start in circumstances out of our control, but there are those of exceptional character who strive to be something beyond expectations.
My guest today is Nadia Francavilla, Musician-in-Residence at UNB and organizer and performer in an upcoming celebration of Le Chevalier de Saint-Georges. In honour of black history month, they will be playing music from this ambitious, phenomenal character of history through the music he produced and surrounded himself with.
