FunDrive Update 3!

Posted on 2014-02-17 by Nuchtchas Posted in fundrive

For several months, our Tech Director was crawling around in our Studio C cleaning out old wires, labeling everything, checking all the equipment, adding new stuff and generally making it better.

He actually enjoys this sort of thing.. And it was really making quite a positive difference in there, so we let him go to it.

Then, January hit, and we had to evacuate that studio, and suddenly, “Operation Rat’s Nest” came to a screeching halt.

We haven’t been able to bring the equipment back in, and so he’s gotten a little.. bored.

Help us, so we can help him, so he won’t do things like the following.. again.

Donate to our FunDrive so we can rebuild our station, and please, share the links on your favorite social media

CAFFEEN! playlist for 2014-02-15: “The Cycle of Return”

Posted on 2014-02-17 by the Encaffeinated ONE Posted in CAFFEEN!

(Been a little since the last fresh show; happy to be back at it once again!)

Support the station from which this show was spawned, and which could not exist anywhere else: CHSR-FM 97.9 is having it’s annual fundraiser, and has added an Indiegogo, with perks like challenging the hosts, guest hosting or even receiving coffee mugs. I approve of this. Support the station that makes magic art from everyday people possible.

CFN20140215 coverartWe are in a constant state of flux and renewal: biologically, philosophically, spiritually, intellectually.

We seek the beginning point, which is the end point of another journey. Around and around we go, knowing that the destination is the inside of the circle, not the line drawn around it.

  • Radiance by Tim Hecker from the album Virgins.
  • Waving To You by Julianna Barwick from the album Nepenthe.
  • All Your Kids Have Turned to Static by Kinski from the album Alpine Static.
  • Camera by CFCF from the album Music For Objects.
  • Better Then Way Too Post-Rock by Nic Bommarito from the album Harp Fragments.
  • Ouroboros Is Broken by Earth from the album Hibernaculum.
  • Marisol by Lotus from the album Post-Rock Set.
  • Groundwork by Kuato from the album Groundwork/Battle of Bloody Creek.
  • (Part Two) I know nothing by Dr. Preachenstein from the album I know nothing..

Tabletop Gaming event postponed (darn snow!)

Posted on 2014-02-16 by encaf1 Posted in General
Hmm.. That can't be good!

Hmm.. That can’t be good!

The weather is playing games with us this year, and we’ve had to retreat back to a strategically safe position — behind the snowbank!

Because Freddy Beach is currently buried under yet another round of the heavy white snow, and people are recommended to stay off the roads, we thought it a good idea to postpone the Tabletop Gaming fundraising event.

That’s postpone, not cancel! We’ve got a bunch of gamers at the station, and we know that you guys love playing games too! (Plus, there will be handmade cupcakes once again!)

So, keep watching Twitter, Facebook and our website, as well as on the air at 97.9 FM for the next appearance of the CHSR’s Tabletop Gaming Event!
