Life rebuilds. It struggles sometimes, it is broken sometimes, but it comes back together in the end. It may not come back together perfectly, but the scars of our imperfections also tell tales of strength, of bravery and of rebirth.
With a new year comes renewed hope, a chance to re-invent ourselves and set out on new paths, while remembering which paths we’ve trod with the lessons learned and memories earned.

I had been volunteering with CHSR since early 2012 and really started getting into music reviewing over the summer. I like listening to all genres of music and loved the fact that CHSR is full of local Canadian independent artists, among many others. I found it neat that I was listening to music that probably no one else in the city had ever heard. What was a shame was that after I had reviewed these CD’s I would return them to the station and they just got kind of lost in the abyss of 100’s CD’s that come into the station monthly. I thought why not do a radio show and showcase some tracks off the CD’s I was listening to? It’s a chance to shine a spotlight on bands that really deserve it.
Erin Bond is a self proclaimed guitar hero/Rock n’ Roll connoisseur with a life long love for music. As a child, most were sung lullabies. I had Beatle songs. I grew up in a very musical home and am very thankful for that.
I’m not sure if I have a “dream guest”. I’ve been pretty lucky with musicians and bands when it comes to getting interviews. When I approach them they have always been more than willing to take the time to speak with me. So far I have had the chance to interview East Coast bands like Slowcoaster, Von Alstynes, Floodland, Like A Motorcycle, Alert The Medic, and even Big Sugar’s Gordie Johnson who came into studio to chat with me. I’m always open to any band who would like to be part of Anything Goes!
CHSR is an amazing alternative to mainstream radio. Independent radio is so culturally important and yet I find that both listeners as well as the musicians it supports underappreciate it. What people need to realize is that there is SO much talent right here in our own backyards, but all you hear on local radio stations is the same Top 40 songs over and over again. CHSR is an opportunity for independent artists to gain exposure and for listeners like youself to hear something different.
As long as there are talented bands sending their music into CHSR there will always be an Anything Goes.
“Anything Goes” might be the most eclectic radio show on Fredericton’s CHSR 97.9FM. Hosted by Bondo “Anything Goes” plays tracks from ALL genres off the CD’s most recently reviewed for the station. Expect to hear the talents that are not found on mainstream radio. But… anything goes.

It’s a return, and a big one! This is a yearly wrap-up episode, looking back over the 1100 stories I covered this year. There will be a second episodes, because I only covered about a quarter of the articles I meant to.
Thank you for your patience. My life is still disrupted, and will remain so for quite some time to come, but I have always considered doing TWS one of my most favourite things.
CQ: The DIY movement, combined with the ease at which anyone can get a global speaking platform, seems like a hotbed of growth. What one innovation — be it in technology, the arts, economics or politics — will really mark the year 2013? And what was your favourite or the most important of 2013?
