Harmony Corruption Episode 16-August 29th, 2023
Hi Everyone! Welcome back to Harmony Corruption. This week was my first week back from vacation, so this show was back to being live rather than prerecorded. I played bands from Scotland (a first for the show), France, the UK, Canada, and the US this week. This show had a focus on newer death metal bands, but had a few classics and other assorted goodies from other subgenres as well. Also talked about Armored Core VI, Dark Souls and may have accidentally summoned an eldritch god while trying to pronounce Cthe’ilist!

He and the band are still and will always be musical brothers.

The cool thing about this type of show is that there is so much music over the past 50 years to choose from.

Interview with Aidan Keenan, Fredericton Region Museum
My guest is Aidan Keenan from the Fredericton Region Museum. The museum opens only in the summer months so we discussed the summer’s events and hours as well as some interesting lore behind some of the museum’s exhibits. We discussed my personal favorite exhibit at the museum which is the Coleman Frog. If you have yet to hear of the Coleman Frog give this interview a listen and have your mind blown, well maybe not blown but it’s a beloved piece of our city’s history.

My guest is Meredith Batt. Batt co-founded The Queer Heritage Initiative of New Brunswick along with Dusty Green. QHINB is a research project that aims to archive queer history in New Brunswick by preserving newsletters, photos, corresponence, oral histories, and more. We discussed the importance of archiving queer history and a book Batt co-wrote with Green called “Len and Cub” about two men who fell in love in New Brunswick in the early 20th century.

Hello there everyone.
Welcome to Episode 31 of Testing For Echo on CHSR 97.9 in Fredericton and around the world. I’m your host Tim Scammell.
Recently, we lost a world-renowned and universally respected Canadian superstar. His influence was everywhere and his loss has shaken the music world to its core.
I always knew him and heard him on the radio, but it wasn’t until I met my stepfather who introduced me to all of Gordon Lightfoot’s work did that I became a megafan.
When I lost my stepfather I had a hard time listening to Gordon for a while, but I did.
So, this isn’t really Prog Rock, but it’s Canada. Gordon wrote The Canadian Railroad Trilogy in 1967 for Canada’s Centennial year.
It’s wonderful and I’m playing it.
There is certainly a lot of Canadianity on this episode. It’s packed!
There’s hard Canadian and soft Canadian. Something for everyone.
