Sorry for skipping an episode but when you get miserably sick there’s a barely acceptable level of “nasal” that one can provide for the radio. So, here we are again, back to the bat and ready to provide all the tracks you need to get through the work week and/or work weekend.
We continue to cover new releases, make random assumptions as to what everyone’s weekend plans are, and otherwise refer to ourselves as a royal “We” at the beginning of this sentence.

Art provides us with a way to reflect ourselves in ways that cannot normally be seen, only experienced. Since it can be shared, it is a form of telepathy.
My guests today are three of the artists involved in a new exhibition called SHE: A Contemporary Art Show Inspired by Femininity. It opens Friday, October 21 at 5pm in the gallery in Suite 260 downtown at 384 Queen St. Joining me were Sarah Sarty (photographer), Penny Heather (painter/artist) and Alison Veino (painter). They share their enthusiastic inspiration for exploring multiple varied aspects of “femininity” in different medium.
The exhibition is open all weekend, and includes a silent, blind auction. Visit to see stunning art, and even take some home with you!

Our friendly neighbourhood Spiderman swings back in to action exclusively on the PlayStation 4 this time. In this strange marvel universe adventure, we see Peter Parker 8 years after he has become Spiderman, trying to balance a job, time with his family and friends all while trying to be Spiderman.
Spiderman is nothing short of amazing and yes every pun is intended there, the swinging through New York feels so fluid and satisfying that it never gets old. It does however have a big learning curve of getting the timing down from swinging to launch points but when you get the hang of it, it Is like an adrenaline rush going through your body. The combat is like the beloved Arkham series, only with a different button layout, Spider Man is very agile, and he uses that to the best of his ability, what really impressed me about the combat in my experience was how much I used every ability and gadget he had in his arsenal as compared to when I played the Batman games.
The story in Spider Man has some great writing and acting in it too, we see Martin Li (Mr. Negative) try to destroy Norman Osbourne’s political and campaign run because of what happened earlier in his life. Mr. Negative has some classic allies with him as well such as vulture, scorpion and rhino which the makes the game that much more exciting. So as you would expect Spider Man attempts to bring peace to the New York state all while trying to balance out his life.
During your adventure there are plenty of side activities and collectibles to keep you going for hours and they are all fun, I have never completed a game as much as I did Spider Man. As you complete the side missions and collectibles you unlock new things such as costumes, abilities, and gadgets and upgrades for the gadgets. I never found myself getting bored or frustrated during these side activities which is a big plus they were the perfect amount of length. The main story of the game will take you just about over 20 hours and will have some very cool Easter eggs from the comics and the marvel universe especially if you have watched the movies or red the comic books.
Insomniac did a wonderful job shining a new light on spider man for PlayStation owners, making the world feel alive unlike any other, fluid web swinging and agile fighting style and fantastic writing. I can not wait until the new game plus mode to play through this game again, Spider man will make super hero games stand to the test of time for years to come.
Score: 9.5

Colin Fowlie is quickly becoming a staple in the Fredericton music scene. Usually seen playing with his band Art of the Possible or with his sometimes mathematically incorrect Trio; Fowlie has been working on a solo project at Marshall Studios with producer Stephen Lewis, Fowlie’s first solo release since 2015’s The Upper Cruft. The three song EP, Harmony, is the first of a three EP story arc that will only be fully revealed on the full length release due out early 2019.
Fowlie joins Bondo on Mornings Are Hard to talk about the meaning behind the songs, embarking on his first tour, and how it feels to finally release your music out to the world. This is your chance to hear the entire EP prior to its digital release October 12, 2018.
Check out Colin Fowlie’s tour dates here.

Art transcends language, but how does it transcend form? Turns out, pretty well…
My guests today are Emily Blair (weaver) and Emily Kennedy (cellist/composer), two-thirds of the artists behind a new collaborative art project called Warped. The project combines weaving, poetry and music in a unique artistic challenge to reflect each art in the other.
Warped takes place at the UNB Art Centre in Memorial Hall on UNB Campus on October 5 at 7:30pm.

Dr. Blustein’s work aims to expand what is known about our nervous systems in order to improve upper limb prostheses. He is part of a large team working across North America to develop new prosthetic technologies with the primary focus to provide an intuitive sense of touch to users of these devices. Dr. Blustein also works closely with the team at the Atlantic Clinic for Upper Limb Prosthetics (located in the same building as the IBME) to develop tools to assess the performance of these next generation devices.
