newCTlogo_03012015Episode #71 was Part II of our ‘Best of 2015′. It was a phenomenal year for Metal on the East Coast. The original idea when I resurrected the Crazy Train was to give exposure to Indie Metal bands from all across our great country. But there’s so much amazing Metal right here in Atlantic Canada it’s hard to not pay attention to it. We do get in some great Metal from across the country, 88 Mile Trip, Adrenechrome, Sanktuary to name a few. But in the end, this year saw incredible albums from Halifax’s Chaos Theory, Enemy Designed, Saint John NB’s No Man’s Throne, Beyond Eternal and right here in Fredericton Brother and several other great bands all released incredible albums. In the day where any musician with the right gear and excellent ear can produce themselves a quality product it kinda really opens the flood gates for all the music that people in the past couldn’t afford to release. In short, in today’s digital medium, nothing can stop Metal!

The Last of Us Remastered Review

The Last of us is a 3rd person survival horror game. Brought to you by the studio that did the hit series uncharted. Does this game take a bite out of you? Or does it survive the zombie apocalypse? Let’s find out.

 

Story: You play as Joel a survivor of the infected for 20 years. Haunted by his past Joel struggles to live life so he smuggles things in to the area he lives in whether it be guns or ration cards. All this changes when Joel is obligated to escort a girl named Ellie to a group called the fire flies across a deserted and infected America.

 

Gameplay: This is a 3rd person shooter and stealth game supplies are limited in this game. Your best bet in this game is to go stealthy or going  hand to hand combat. In this game you are outnumbered the majority of the time so sneaking up behind someone and choking them out is best in this situation .If you get spotted just brawl it out  one on one with your enemy as long as there is only one enemy left if you are outnumbered run and hide. When you are sneaking around in this game your adrenaline is pumping.  There is nothing like hitting a infected or hunter with a led pipe with scissors going through it or even just choking them out. While sneaking around you pick up things to craft like nail bombs, smoke bombs, shiv’s etc. Along your journey you can pick up extra things like comics, artifacts, upgrade manuals and firefly pendants.

 

Conclusion: This game is action packed, very emotional within ten minutes you are drawn in to the characters. By the end of the game you can see the relationships that have developed throughout the journey you have taken. You get so attached to these characters you can’t help but love and feel for these characters and it saddens you to say goodbye to them at the end of the game. The scenery in this game is stunning just like in Uncharted Naughty Dog pulls it off again with the graphics and visuals and story. I give this game a 10 out of 10.
