CQ: Will the notion of a “workweek” in which you work at your job for several regular days in a row survive into the future, when days, weeks and other planetary-based time measurement become obsoleted by the travel into space — or is the traditional workweek timeframe already completely disrupted by globalization, individual entrepreneurship and the Internet of Tribes?

Things are rarely straight lines in nature — in fact, nature seems to prefer curves. Curves, however, are among the hardest things to define in mathematics, while lines are simple. The gap between reality and mathematics never felt larger..

Is it possible that, just this once, Winter never actually ends? Can we life with that? It certainly has gone on too long for most, and we all feel the opposite of Stockhausen Syndrome: we do not sympathize with our captors, we want them abolished from existence…

Not since the invention of plastic can we truly ever say that all things around us are authentic, and the further invention of electronics has now disassembled the remainder of things into bytes instead of atoms. Sometimes, we need to acknowledge that we live in a wholly synthetic, digital world, and embrace what we find there…

Music is open to all — or at least, that’s how we see it these days. It wasn’t always the case in hiphop, but rappers like Eminem inspired a generation to say “that’s like me, I can do that”, just like the original hiphop itself widened the world of so many young men and women.
One of these inspired young men is working on a project called Stephen Hero. It’s working class hiphop, but not reduced in flow, spirit or energy. He sat down with Tim & I to talk about his inspirations for hiphop, the Stephen Hero project, and about surprising music from Columbia House or his dad’s compilation obsession.
Stephen Hero is currently working on his first EP — two of the songs featured in this episode are previews from that EP — and will be having a video debut on FrederictonLocals.com on Monday, as well as a show next Thursday night at the Capital in Fredericton. Check out his music on BandCamp (among other places).

The structure of our universe is based on the words we used to describe it. Sometimes, it is necessary to hunt and kill the words, to take them into our souls by devouring them and they become one with our vision, one with our description.
Or sometimes, we just need a good pun..
