You are invited to CHSR’s annual benefit show: a phenomenal musical party known as Shake ‘N’ Bake.

CHSR’s annual Benefit Concert is going to kick ass with local talent. As many of you know, we take pride in the local scene. We are a non-for-profit organization that needs to raise money to keep us on the air and online. The following artists have donated a performance to the station in a strong show of support and we at CHSR are very grateful.

Next T1 Training for New Members: October 25, 5pm-7pm

Welcome to all new and prospective members! We’ll be holding another basic (T1) training session to introduce new members to the way that CHSR works, the basic rules you have to follow to do radio, and to explore some of the ideas you have for how to get involved.

The next T1 training session will be held on October 25 at 5:00pm until 7:00pm in Room 103 in the Student Union Building (SUB). That’s a conference room on the second level.

If you cannot make this time: it is possible to make separate arrangements. Contact the Program Director (ProgramDirector@CHSRfm.ca) to figure out a time. There are a very limited number of additional times in October.

Also, for those of you who are ready to take the next step to technical training (T2), contact the Program Director (ProgramDirector@CHSRfm.ca) about how to start yours. This training will give you the very basics in using the mixing board, working behind a microphone, recording and editing audio, and is a hands-on, experienced-based practice session.

The following training slots are available for up to 3 people, each Monday through Friday, 1:30pm & 3:00pm. You will need to book this with me — drop-ins are unlikely to work!

October 10th –
Drew and Fred spoke about the ongoing Ryback storyline, their reaction about Vince getting quite physical in the last match, the whole CM Punk/Fan interraction and quickly covered the card for UFC 153.

October 17th –
Drew and Fred are back with their impressions of UFC 153, the results for TNA’s Bound for Glory, going over some big UFC news for 2013 as well as a quick review of WWE news.

This week on the busiest LIVE comics radio show, we welcome Cullen Bunn back into the Monster Cave. Cullen is still hard at work on his ‘The Sixth Gun’ book from Oni Press which has just been optioned as a TV series from NBC. In addition he has picked up the writing reigns to a slew of Marvel books. He joins us to chat about all this as well as the Sixth Gun spin-off and his new series coming in March ‘Helheim’.

Also this week, we talk with superstar Marvel artist Nick Bradshaw about the East Coast Comics Expo which will be happening next May in Moncton, NB (our back yard). Nick may have a few juicy bits of information about the brand new event so tune in!
