The Lunchbox 2021-03-30: Cat Candow and Cat Leblanc
- In 2020, I spoke to two phenomenal Cats! Cat Candow was one of the artists enjoying the beautiful surroundings during the summer, working on her fabric art inspired by the Botanical Garden. And earlier in the year, Cat Leblanc released her debut album, Blue to Blue, from which we hear the delightful Side of the Road.

The Lunchbox 2021-03-25: Theatre UNB’s TomorrowLove (w/ a scene!)
- I love theatre. This should be no surprise to anyone who’s heard me before, and it is one of my joys to help celebrate the theatre done within this city. One of the people who loves theatre as much (probably more!) than me, and who certainly contributes greatly to our strong theatre scene is Len Falkenstein. While his official title is “Director of Drama at UNB”, I have dubbed him “Grand Poobah of Theatre in Fredericton”. He joins me along with student actorss Mary Walker and Hentry Hatch in the second of two interviews about Theatre UNB’s upcoming production massive of TomorrowLove. The 15 (!) plays of this “play cycle” are being staged in two bundles starting on March 31.
- Lainie B from Monday night’s B Street brings us another installment of Positive Songs For Pandemics with a cover of Just What I Needed by K-OS.
- Continuing to celebrate and highlight women’s voices for the month, I added the heavenly voice of Ingrid Gatin with the title track of her album, Time Will Change Us.
- The UNB Art Centre continues to release interviews that shine a spotlight on some of the women artists featured in the UNB Permanent Collection. This week: Ann Manuel.

The Lunchbox 2021-03-23: Theatre UNB’s TomorrowLove
- I love theatre. This should be no surprise to anyone who’s heard me before, and it is one of my joys to help celebrate the theatre done within this city. - Since it’s International Women’s Month, I’m celebrating this week with interviews I’ve had the pleasure of having with outstanding women. Today, it’s a 2019 interview with Tea Fazio about the (then) upcoming STEM UP Conference in Fredericton, aimed at encouraging young women to go into science, technology, engineering and math fields of study.

The 2021 Fashion Studio exhibition is an eclectic culturally and historically referenced mix of pieces that were created in 2020 for a Fashion Event wiped out by the pandemic. This includes brand new lines, alumni work, and pieces created for the annual Fabricville Fashion Challenge plus work created by the 2021 grads for this spring. You’ll see a complete conceptual historically-informed fashion line created by a graduate, alumni work that is simultaneously tailored but contains Rococo-inspired details: ruffles, applique, and beading, Indigenous haute couture, and entries for the annual Fashion Challenge.
