The full bevy of rock, metal and punk is here, and we just simply didn’t have enough time to experience it all. But we tried, and this is the result! It’s a pretty solid episode if I do say so myself. Sometimes I have to wonder if I should take Super Fan Shane’s advice and expand the show.
Anyway, enjoy this week’s episode, and if you haven’t had enough of me yet, I’m live Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 9 PM and 12 AM Atlantic Time (GMT-4) playing music and games. Join me on my new Twitch channel here!

Games teach us so many things about who we are, how to get along with others, how to solve problems and think outside the box — as well as being perhaps the most engaging entertainment you can imagine, and a chance to be someone else for a while.
My guests today are Julian Christie, Marie Meade and Larry Holder, some of the organizers behind the upcoming 2017 edition of the Enbicon game convention and Capital Cosplay costuming event. This year’s event will be held near the end of October, and promises to be bigger and better than ever! My guests talk about the new space, the games, and the additions to a great tradition.
Enbicon 2017 will be held at the Delta Fredericton on Woodstock Road on October 28th & 29th. For only $15, you can enjoy a very full weekend of every kind of gaming imaginable, and show off or learn about cosplay. See you there!

Naughty Dog brings us a lengthy DLC, from the Uncharted series featuring a story following the events of Uncharted 4 with Chloe and Nadine. You take control of Chloe in this case; as she is on the hunt for the Tusk of Ganesh, and tries to beat a war lord by the name of Asav. Who is in the middle of a war himself. The lost legacy takes place in India, which is great because it is a new location. But 90% of it takes place in a jungle like all of the other Uncharted games (a change of scenery would be nice in this series).
In the beginning of the game, we see the characters struggle to trust each other and work together. As the story continues we find out a little bit more about the history of the characters. Especially Chloe, and who her father was. Come to find out she is finishing what her father began. Nadine’s story is a bit different and is satisfying to find out what has happened to her and shoreline, and how she acquired the organization. The characters seem to get closer as the story progresses with some minor bumps along the way.
Lost Legacy is a great expansion of the series and I hope to see a full triple A title featuring these two characters in the future.

Sometimes you just need an ally to help you reach your dreams, to make your art.
My guests today are Natalie Pickard and Debbie Thomas. Debbie works with the New Brunswick Accociation for Community Living (NBACL), an entity that works with people who need help making their way in society. Natalie is an artist working with the NBACL on a program that helps people get started on creating a sustainable business. Natalie’s artwork can be found on postcards, currently for sale at Covey’s on Prospect St. We talk about how the program helps people like Natalie, and how Natalie has gone on to create this artwork.

2017-08-15 Every once in awhile there’s a sound that you can’t quite describe. Dark, but not ominous. Beautiful, but not delicate. Montreal’s Raveen fits into this category.
Their latest release, Always, had Ride The Tempo call them “the Pink Floyd of the new millennium” which are some pretty big words… but I get it. There’s something big, ethereal and calming about this music all at the same time.
Check out my chat with Raveen vocalist Eric while we talk about the music, Montreal, and their upcoming East Coast tour.
Raveen are playing The Capital with Property// and Year of Glad August 26, 2017.

Fire it off to me online here, RunForYourLifeCHSR@gmail.com or tweet at me as RFYLMatt! Do it!

Crash Bandicoot is back with a whole new make over. Activision brings us the three original games that originally came out in the 90’s, Crash Bandicoot, Cortex strikes back and Warped. Does this hold the nostalgic feelings we deserve or does it leave us frustrated with no end to be seen? let’s find out.
Crash Bandicoot is a wonderful platformer that took me back to the days of Mario, Donkey Kong & Mega Man. Your evil nemeses in these games, of course, is Doctor Neo Cortex who is trying to get all the power crystals, so each level you go through in the second & third game collecting those power crystals is a must; other than that getting from the beginning of the level to the end is the main goal, and defeating enemies by jumping on them or spin attacking them is just awesome. That is only the tip of the ice berg when it comes to these games collecting apples to get enough for extra lives, destroying all the boxes for an extra gem at the end of the levels.
Let’s talk about the levels, some of the levels in this game are absolutely gorgeous when it comes to the new design and updated graphics; with that being said some of the levels are so difficult in parts it will make your turn gray if you are in your twenties like me, some of these levels would take me up to forty-five minutes to beat but none the less I had a great time with them and the game took me less than a week to beat which is great. I never got bored I was being challenged but not to the point where I wanted to give up. I found as the games went along though they were getting easier, I don’t know if that is because I was getting accustomed to the challenge or if they were made intentionally to be easier.
The N Sane trilogy may have been beaten but it will not soon be forgotten it is everything I needed in a game right now, it may have been frustrating at certain points but I had fun every step of the way.

Imagine what rock & roll will be able to do after a few hundred years of refinement.. And then go listen to the amazing work in classical music.
My guest today is Richard Hornsby, Director of Music at UNB and one of the organizers and participants in the NB Summer Music Festival. While primarily a festival celebrating music created a century or two ago, the festival also presents a modern blending of music in the FUZE sub-festival, as well as music from other traditions. This year, the theme is España, the music from Spain.
