There’s a huge interest — and action! — in eating local. That means you not only have some transparency in where your food comes from, but you can be assured that it comes from a farmer or producer not that far from you.

Combine that with more conscientiously-produced food, lower reliance on pesticides and chemicals, and suddenly, the food tastes better!

My guest today is Kim Lawrence, one of the co-owners of Real Food Connections. This family-run business is quickly bridging the gap between local food producers and local food consumers, stimulating interest and awareness (as well as a lot of good eatin’!) in making a diet of good food produced in your backyard. We talk about where Real Food Connections comes from, what it has grown into and plans for the future!

The Crazy Train Episode #XXXIX

This week on the Crazy Train we had on a couple of the guys from Siegebreaker for the two hours of the show. Dale Lyons and Gavin Brown joined Steve ‘The Buzz Man’ Dunnett and I, and brought along some of their favorite Indie Metal tracks for Hour I and in hour II we played some of their all time favorite Global Metal bands. We discussed the evolution of the band, the inspiration for their songs and the history of Heavy Metal in their lives.

Siegebreaker had just finished recording a Session in Studio D, which will air in a few weeks. I’ll keep ya’s posted!

And what about those White Walkers and their army of the dead advancing on the Wall? We asked the White Walker himself that very question when we sat down with him at Halcon a few months ago. You definitely won’t want to miss our interview with Ross Mullan at the top of the show!

The Crazy Train Episode #XXXVIII

Spring has sprung! Steve ‘The Buzz Man’ Dunnett has recovered from his sickness and was back to join me on air. 

We honored Hero’s Last Rite, as they won their first ECMA for “Loud recording of the year”. We also played some BRAND new Dumpster Mummy as well as some Hard Charger, Helm, Verses and Siegebreaker.

Speaking of Siegebreaker they will be performing live in Studio ‘D’ THIS Saturday April 18th! Then the band will hop over from Studio ‘D’ and join The Buzz Man and I for two hours on the Crazy Train!! Don’t miss this one kids!!

In Hour II we played some Behemoth, new Venom, new Napalm Death and new Motorhead. 

We also played request for Alter Bridge, Exodus Chron Goblin and more!

Thank you to anyone who contributed to our Fundrive 2015 campaign, while we didn’t reach our goal, it’s much appreciated… Hopefully we’ll be able to stay on air. I don’t think people realized how this funding effects the station, we’re on precarious ground. Hopefully we’ll make it through the year….
