Kickstarter opened up its service to allow Canadians to create projects earlier this year, and it’s been an impressive lot so far. Local filmmaker Ryan O’Toole joins myself and Tim Rayne to talk about his currently active Kickstarter to support his next short film project, “Pop”.
The second half of the hour is a repeat of the interview I did last week with James Wilson, about his current photography exhibit at the UNB Arts Centre, “Redeemed”, and the book that was spawned from that project. We talked about the Fred Ross murals and their rediscovery and re-creation, as well as the legacy of 4 generations of photography his family has been involved with.

Filmmaking is a growing industry in New Brunswick, with more and more successes every year. Just after winning an award at the Toronto International Film Festival, and showing their film as the opening gala of the recent Silver Wave Film Festival, local Director/Writer Gia Milani and Producer Tony Whalen are pleased to announce that their feature-length film, “All The Wrong Reasons”, is playing at Cineplex in Fredericton. The married team join myself and Tim Rayne to talk about what it took to make the film, lessons learned and achievements made, and the story that plays out on-screen.
“All The Wrong Reasons” opens Friday, November 15 at 6pm, and is currently scheduled to run until November 21.

We often assume that if things overcome difficulty to start on a good foot, they are going to be successful. But great flowers can grow in terrible soil, and great soil can breed nothing but weeds. Many a crazed believer has followed their beliefs to a terrible, logical end.. At least in Lovecraftian fiction..
