Harvest Music Festival Announces New Site Layout

Harvest Music Festival will be making some changes heading into their 35th anniversary next year.

In a Facebook post the festival announced that they will be combining two of their main tents, the Blues and Mojo, into a new site for the festival that will make use of the new outdoor stage in Officers Square.

Courtney Steeves, Harvest’s General Manager, says the new setup will include open air space, an unwalled tented area and an increased capacity of approximately 2000. She says it aims to reduce noise from crowd chatter for a better listening experience and adds that it will leave more resources to improve other Harvest destinations as well.

The festival runs from September 9th – 14th, 2025, with their first round of announced headliners including a trio of festival debuts in Indigo Girls, Melissa Etheridge & The Head And The Heart.

Away From The Mire Episode 61 – Getting Loud!

If Ozzfest 97 or the Family Values Tour was your dream concert event, this is the episode for you!

I’ve been wanting to do a hard rock/metal episode for quite a while and this is the one! I was a teenager during the late 90’s nu metal era and if it was in Hit Parader magazine I was into it. This was super fun to put together and while I don’t listen to most of these bands regularly it was great to reconnect with what was a pivotal part of my teenage years. I hope you’ll enjoy the show and my stories! Pairs well with WCW Revenge on N64 and pepperoni Pizza Pockets.

CHSR News – December 4th, 2024 – Premier Holt Announces Dates For Nurse Retention Payments, CUPE Yet To Agree

Nurses in New Brunswick have a date on when they will receive their promised 10,000$ retention bonuses from the Holt government.

It was announced that 9,950 retention payments will be sent out on December 19th, with the hopes that they will be received by Dec.31st or shortly into the new year.

Approximately 1000 LPNs under the Canadian Union of Public Employees, or CUPE, have yet to sign the provinces letter of agreement as they are waiting on a formal letter of commitment from the government to repeal Bill 17, the Pension Plan Sustainability and Transfer Act, which transferred several locals represented by CUPE from a defined benefit pension to a shared risk model.

The bonuses will cost the province $83 million, which is an additional $60 million added to the previously budgeted 23 million for the provinces wage bill for 2024-25.

UNB soccer coach helping Canada Soccer grow

Canada’s Men’s National Soccer Team recently finished on top of the 2024 CONCACAF Nations League standings through the quarter-final round, achieving their highest world ranking in the country’s history at 31st.

The team has continued to roll under new head coach Jesse Marsch, beating Suriname 1-0 on the road on November 15th and 3-0 on November 19th at home in Toronto.

Part of Marsch’s staff resides right here in Fredericton in video/performance analyst Joe Hamilton who was contacted by the team after they had a late staff pullout and urgently needed to fill the video/performance analyst role prior to the 2021 Gold Cup.

Hamilton has held the role ever since, including through Canada’s successful world cup qualifying, the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and the most recent Copa America.

Have a listen to hear more about Hamilton’s story.
