So this is December. What did you expect?
I think we’re doing okay, only four episodes out from closing out the year for RFYL, with a bunch of solid tracks that released near the tail end of 2016 and into 2017. Should I be doing a year-end review? Are these the questions that should be answered?
I have decided… no.
So instead, enjoy some music, put your feet up, bring them back down because you’re probably driving, and then resume whatever your task was. But, don’t worry – at least I have your playlist covered!

It is often when we suspend the rules of reality for a while that we discover the truth of the universe; this is the very definition of theatre, after all..
My guests today are Len Falkenstein, Sarah DuBois and Veronica Howe. Len is the Director of Drama at UNB and the director of an upcoming Theatre UNB production of a pair of absurdist plays by Eugene Ionesco, whereas Sarah and Veronica each play prominent roles in one of these plays. They join me to talk about discovering the necessary places an actor must go to embody surprisingly physical and intentionally absurd theatre, and their experiences bringing these plays to life with straight face when everyone else is laughing.
Cats, Cockatoos and Caca features the plays “Jack, or the Submission” and “The Bald Soprano” by Eugene Ionesco, and opens on Thursday, November 30 at 7:30pm at Memorial Hall, 9 Bailey Hall on UNB campus. The production runs Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights only, so don’t miss it!

There is so much amazing music being created in our own backyards. CHSR wants to help highlight some of the albums/EPs being submitted to their Music Department! Erin Bond, aka Bondo, current CHSR Station Manager, has been a musicoiphile her entire life. She was introduced to CHSR back in 2011 when a friend mentioned a place where you could volunteer to listen to music, it sounded too good to be true. After her initial visit Bondo became a devoted music reviewer, listening to on average about 25 new albums per week, and hasn’t left CHSR’s music library since.
To take over from What Is CHSR Listening To, Bondo has created a weekly on-air music column showcasing a new Canadian release that will air Mondays at noon on The Lunchbox. Join Bondo and Mark the Encaffeinated ONE each week and potentially discover your new favourite band.

Halloween is the second most commercial holiday in North America, estimated that Americans spent $9.1 BILLION on candy, costumes, and decorations in 2017. THAT’s the only terrifying thing about Halloween.
But, how did the holiday become so popular? How did it become associated with ghosts? Where did the holiday even come from?
Listen in while Marvin, Erin and John talk about the history of Halloween and why we all love it so much.
