Photographs are an amazing tool to understanding the past — even when they remain mostly mysterious.

My guest today is Josh Green, Photo Archivist at the New Brunswick Provincial Archives. He’s holding a talk on January 18 at the Archives (sponsored by the York-Sunbury Historical Society) to talk about historical photographs of Fredericton, dating from Confederation all the the way to the turn of the 20th century. He discusses the large collection at the archives, the process of authenticating and understanding the photographs, and some of the fascinating pictures he’ll be presenting.

My guest today is Sylvia D. Hamilton, a filmmaker, poet and writer whose work highlights, exposes and solidifies the history of African people in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and elsewhere. Her exhibit, Excavation: Memory Work, is currently on displays at the UNB Art Centre, featuring elements discovered among the archives and artifacts of Kings Landing.

From a treatment for those in the intensity of battle to something that can be applied in situations of mundane but still intense pain, the world’s attitude is changing toward marijuana.

My guest today is Mike Southwell, President of the locally-grown company Marijuana for Trauma. The company has experienced great expansion across the country in its support not only of veterans in need of post-service recovery but in treating people with chronic pain and other illnesses. As attitudes and legalities surrounding marijuana start to dramatically change, Mike joined me to talk about where MFT came from, his own experience with recovery, and his hopes and plans for the future of the company.

TEM Ep.15: Major Adventures Ahead

We talk about the ins and outs of the industry, concert etiquette, badass film photographers, music video shoots and the struggles of touring.

 

We also talk about this incredible photo he took of Kerry King from Slayer!

First General Distortion of 2018!

New year, new us and all that jazz…

 

We start off 2018 with by sitting down with Ryan Stacey. You may know him as @staceytakespictures and he is a touring photographer who got his start doing concert photography in Halifax. NS and now lives in Ottawa and has done tour photography for bands such as Deez Nuts, Get The Shot, Miss May I and Obey The Brave.

 

He also took this incredible photo of Kerry King from Slayer which is hands done my favorite concert photo. We talk about it a bit on tonight’s episode!
