The things that we learn at school may not always be in classes…
My guest today is Emma McPhee, the current Editor of UNB’s oldest student magazine, The Brunswickan. The new format of the Bruns from weekly newspaper to monthly magazine presents interesting possibilities and opportunities, and they are looking for more students to jump on board and capture interesting stories. We chatted about Emma’s own experience and some of the things people can get involved with.
The Brunswickan will be holding an open house for students on Thursday, September 28 at 6pm in their offices, room 35 of the UNB Student Union Building. UNB, STU and NBCC students are welcome to check it out!

Hello again. Well it was quite a week with all the rain we had but we got through it. And to help us through it we heard some of the best in classic rock. Here’s just a few bands we heard from…. Styx, The Who, Traffic, Angel, Ted Nugent and many more.

Working towards a college or university degree is a formidable undertaking. The time management challenges of academic studies, classroom lectures, practicum’s and labs leave little room for extracurricular activities. The constant effort is exhausting and the need for down-time can become significant. One University of New Brunswick – Fredericton student [and CHSR 97.9FM Board of Director] is managing these challenges as well as adding another unique set of demands. As a Naval Reservist, Matt Baxter has also immersed himself in a part-time career in Canada’s military.
