RFYL Episode – SnowFortressEP197

On this week’s episode, we’re prepared for the end times yet again. I realize that it’s not only just a meme, but a tired old concept from this show to give you something to blast on that busted radio you found from the station still pumping out music even after the end times have been nigh and are no longer nigh, but that’s what we’re still going with.
I dug back into the archives a bit further to find every little ear worm I loved back when it was new, and made this wonderful mixtape of an hour for you. It even wound up being a little longer than it should’ve been, so one track is a bonus track just for you podcast people.
Hunker in, we’ll be here a while.
PS: It’s Bandcamp Friday. Go support some artists over on Bandcamp.

RFYL Episode – Shovels EP 196

Did you know that I apparently have a bandcamp profile that gets views? I didn’t either. No, I’m not promoting it. It’s pretty obvious if you look for it, especially if you look up any of the bands I’ve been playing for the past however-many years. Anyway, I’m told that those of us who are moving through the deep freeze will soon be buried, so grab your shovels and just.. well, grin and bear it, as we’re always told.
Also we can go out now. Which is perfect, just in time for the entire province to become a skating rink!

RFYL Episode – NostalgigatorEP195
In a world where we can easily look backwards instead of forwards, I’ve decided … well, actually this is all the same as every other time. Including every sentence I’ve made so far. Maybe it IS time to stop. But until I’ve thrown in the towel, let’s reminisce a little bit and enjoy some solid tunes while keeping up the visage of doing something new and exciting.
Anyone else tired?

RFYL Episode – BaseOmicronEP192

And so, we’ve come to the final episode of RFYL for this year. Will I do another episode? Maybe. Will I randomly creep in over the next two weeks anyway? Probably not. But what I will do is continue to uphold the tradition of not playing random holiday music at least for the hour, because I’m sure there’s someone out there that needs an hour, even just one hour, of avoiding it.
So enjoy this last bastion of solitude. After this? Enjoy your holidays, whether or not you do anything.. maybe just buy yourself a hot drink and relax, even for a few minutes. You can run for your life later.

The Lunchbox Interview 2021-12-15: Allison Green (CreatedHere Magazine)
My guest today is Allison Green, the Executive Director and an editor of CreatedHere Magazine. This publication celebrates, discusses, demonstrates and distributes visual art produced by creators in New Brunswick. In 2019, it transitioned to a non-profit organization, and produces a sizeable magazine every quarter. We talked about how the magazine got started, what it means to an artist to have their work presented in such a magazine, and how important it is for us to be aware of the great work created here.
For the holidays, it might be a great idea to give a gift subscription to CreatedHere, or donate to make sure the organization thrives!

RFYL Episode – FootfallsEP191
I don’t go outside anymore and I don’t know what’s happening. I do know that it’s cold and there’s wolves out there, so probably avoid both of those things if you can.
ANYWAY, we continue the holiday tradition of providing you a bastion from all things carol-y, except people named Carol, of course. Though that might be a different spelling. Somebody google that for me, I’m sure I’ll listen if you correct me. Definitely.
Grab a podcast or don’t, I’m not your boss.

Welcome to the first episode of December! On this week’s episode we continue the good fight and get a little heavier than normal for the sake of doing it, juuuuuuuuuust because I know there’s a lot of awful out there and you’ve likely been listening to random Christmas music since mid-November, and if you’re anything like me, it’s making your eye twitch.
Anyway, enjoy the eternal darkness of Winter and turn your radio up loud. Louder than that.
