Nadia Chloe Rose returns to discuss her new e-book Egbert: A Romantic Comedy as well as discuss modelling, movies, and more!

What scares you? Maybe it’s a ghost — or maybe it’s human nature. Terrible, horrible, inhuman human nature…
My guests today are Len Falkenstein, Sydney Hallett and Greg Robinson, all involved in Theatre St Thomas’s current spooky-season production of Jordan Tannahill’s Concord Floral. Len’s taking time off from teaching and directing theatre at UNB to select and direct this play for STU. Sydney plays Nearly Wild, one of the haunted students, and Greg plays student 2 and a bird. They discuss what kind of ghost story this is, what it’s like to inhabit a bird for a while, and how scary high school can really be.
Concord Floral is being staged at STU’s Black Box Theatre, and runs from October 30 through November 2, with nightly performances at 7:30pm and a matinee at 2pm on Saturday.

On this week’s episode, we are still catching up with brand new releases and randomly go into disco mode because I have that power and you don’t so there. But I guess you can, too.
Also, it’s weird to transition between the studio and home. I’m going to try and make it more common for me to be in studio, but until then let’s just pretend I’m in studio all the time, even when other people’s shows are on, so you can always assume it’s just me.
Ok don’t do that last thing.

In darker times, superstition and suspicion overcame good judgement and understanding, but one doesn’t have to look all the way to Salem, Massachusetts to find it.
My guest today is Stephanie Pettigrew, a PhD student in UNB’s History department whose dissertation focuses on witchcraft and blasphemy in seventeenth century Montreal. She joins us to tell us about the history of witches in New Brunswick.
Stephanie has an upcoming talking on October 27 entitled “Jean Campagnard: New Brunswick’s seventeenth-century witchcraft trial”.
How much do you think you know about New Brunswick history? Personally, I think we do a pretty bad job of teaching it, and most people don’t embrace it. I’m on a mission to learn more, so I’ve invited a collection of historians to help me learn more about the legacies, the achievements, the battles, the inventions, the troublesome eras and the long past of one of Canada’s oldest regions.

Director Jim Wynorski discusses his long career that includes Chopping Mall, Big Bad Mama 2, Return of Swamp Thing, Dinosaur Island, and the notorious Bare Wench Project.
Running a good game means being prepared, but the question of what you need to prepare — especially if you’re new at this — can be daunting.
In this episode, we continue to provide advice for new GMs, focussing now on the preparation needed to get to that first session (or session 0) as well as week to week.

Great ideas in philosophy are often obscured the words chosen to represent them — but what if you could bring those words to life, given them people to breath them?
My guest today is Robbie Lynn, the playwright and director behind a new work adapting a philosophical work for an intimate stage setting, called Philosophia: An Adaptation of Plato’s Symposium. Robbie joins me to talk about the beginning of an idea about sharing his love of philosophy with others, and demonstrating that its not as stuffy as the dry words might appear.
Philosophia is being staged for the public on two weekends, and in two different venues. This weekend, catch the play at The Abbey Café and Gallery at 7:30pm on October 26 and 4pm on October 27. On the following weekend on November 2-3, catch the performance at Yoga Above Aura at 7:30pm each night.

On this week’s episode we actually manage to go LIVE in the hotseat, which is awesome. We revisit the times of YESTERYEAR by doing the exact same thing we used to, including rambling, yelling randomly and otherwise playing music for 89% of the episode.
If it’s not actually 89% I apologize profusely. I won’t change my behaviour but still, the thought counts, right? That was not a politically-charged comment at all.
ANYWAY ENJOY THE MUSIC SEE YOU NEXT WEEK (EVEN IF IT’S AUDIO ONLY)

Everyone has to start somewhere. And just about every game needs someone to referee the rules and run the setting, or establish plot lines and play the NPCs.
In this episode, we bring together the gang to share advice for people just starting on the path toward one of the most challenging, rewarding, creative, stress-inducing, thrilling, exciting, complicated and very, very fun parts of games.
We start at the beginning, with resources to look out for, some of the things that you need to think about when you are bring a group together, all the way up that first session — which is in the next episode.

Most people think of history — especially recent history — as something you read in a dry book, but it can be brought to life, interpreted as a living, breathing theatrical performance.
My guest today is Natasha MacLellan, the Artistic Director of Theatre New Brunswick and director of the upcoming political comedy production, 1979. Natasha joins me to talk about staging something right out of Canadian history, but transformed into a play.
1979 opens October 16 and runs for two weeks at TNB’s Open Space Theatre (55 Whiting Rd) before setting out on a cross-province tour.
